You in the medical field?

I retired from that field.

What area specifically? I ask because I am an RN and it was odd seeing
blood gas terminology here.

Pediatrics. But I am teacher of teenagers now. Teenagers in Harlem. Great
kids, really. Though it always doesn't show.

True but water like CO2 is not a pollutant. What is the percentage of CO2
in the atmosphere?

DUH, CO2 is not a pollutant, without it all vegetation on earth would
die. Without the greenhouse gases, that hold heat in the atmosphere, we
could not live on the earth.

mike

And water is not a poision, and without it we could not live, but too much
water can be deadly.

You're welcome to jump to any conclusions you like, Mike.

The color of their skin is irrelevent. My comments would be similar if the
kids were in any of the states where I have taken care of kids, including
NJ, PA and MI.

Almost all kids fall into the catagory of great kids, IMHO.

What killed the rats was displacement of the oxygen in the air by the
COs, some of which was exhaled by the rats. LOL

First, I don't see anything to laugh about when life is taken.

Second, what killed the rats was the high CO2 concentration in their blood
stream. They did with maybe 15 seconds, which is far to fast for the
oxygen to get depleted.

CO2 is an acid. It gets converted to carbonic acid in the blood (HCO3- +
H+ when the CO2 dissolves in blood). It causes the blood pH to drop to low
levels. This is what killed the rats. If there were 50% O2 and 50% CO2,
the results would have been the same.

CO2 is also a poison. When I was doing lab research, rats were
euthanized with CO2. CO2 nearly posioned the astronauts on the Apollo
13 mission (according to the book _The_Lost_Moon_ by James Lovell). If
the concentration of CO2 in your body goes up by 50%, your blood pH
will go down and you will start breathing real fast (this is called
respiratory acidosis).

Most CO2 is in the atmosphere. When wood and other fuels burn, the CO2 goes
up in the smoke.

CO2 gets converted into sugar by plants through photosynthesis. But when
that happens, it's no longer CO2.

Apparently more than you. One does not see me asking for a source every
time something is posted with which I may disagree. If I see something with
which I may disagree I do my own search for the facts

A little more research before posting WBMA.

I disagree with this.

Some research before posting. A little more implies that he does some
already. ;-)

You're making the false assumption that I don't do proper research.

Nonetheless, it is up to you to back your claims, not I.

Really? You might want to do more research if that is what you choose to
believe, since you view is politically driven.

There are plenty of sources in the field of archeology and climatology that
strongly disagree that man is doing anything, of any significance, that is
more than marginally effecting the earth temperature. Even more of the
earth scientists believe there is little man can do to materially overcome
the changes in the forces of nature that can and do effect the average
temperature on earth and have for billions of years LOL

True, but it is not a basic build block needed to preserve life on earth, as
is CO2 .

When I read of 'all natural' products, I think they could contain Asbestos,
Arsenic, Mercury, Cyanide etc... LOL
