Religion creates an atmosphere which weak-minded people interpret in ways which are obnoxious, antisocial or sometimes illegal. Obnoxious: I had a lunatic (fundamentalist) neighbor who verbally abused his wife all day long (loud enough for the neighbors to hear). One day, I asked him how he justified this. He said the bible designated that the man was the head of the household and that women were subservient. He was serious. He actually though the bible empowered him to treat his wife like trash. He's now the head of his own crappy studio apartment and his subservient wife got his house when she divorced him. His car, too. |

I'd be particularly interested in a citation from the religion that is

That might be true (I do not accept the premise, but I'll go with it for the
moment), but it's not the assertion you made and are yet to support.
