Why do the states with the smallest population have this amount of
influence? Wyoming, the Dakotas. Compared to the coastal states
these small states pay so little in taxes. These small states get
back a much much more than the pay into the government in taxes. I
bet 65% of citizens of Wyoming want a public option.

I like Shepard Smith.

As it is most doctors don't want to take medicaid. They are getting
close to not wanting to take medicare. A public option would end up
with the same fate. Also, when the senator mentioned 'being able to
buy across state lines', well that's something that would NOT be good
for anyone. The reason insurance companys want THAT is they want to be
able to do what credit card companys do. Credit card companys domicile
in the state that has the weakest credit card laws. Ever notice why
most of them have their home office in delaware..?

If insurance companys were allowed to market across state lines they
would pick the state with the weakest insurance laws, domicile there
and market across state lines unfettered by any local state laws. The
way insurance is CURRENTLY regulated is in the best interest of the
public, that is by the individual states.

This 'across state lines' change is one thing John McCain also wanted
to do and I disagreed with that. But I still voted for him. Basically
whenever a senator talks about wanting to be able to sell across state
lines he's in the pocket of the insurance comapanys. Both parties
insist on keeping the wrong parts of their respective arguments..sad.
