The article is NOT saying that bottled water is in general inferior to
tap water - only that it is "not necessarily cleaner or safer than
most tap water".

Less government-required testing does not mean that testing is not
done. Logically-handicapped idiot.

With so much fear about pathogens, it would be plain stupid of a company not
to frequently test their product. One epidemic can sink a company rather
quickly.

LOL. Unable to logically rebute my argement, you go on a fact-free
personal attack.

Wow, I never would have guessed that you'd do that!

How ironic, from the guy making personal attacks.

When the facts of the matter are; THE MAJORITY of bottled water comes
from a commercial (make that Municipal) faucet! At best the bottled
water MIGHT get some extra filtration.

The point is not that bottled water is bad, the point the majority of folks
that buy bottled water are buying it because they think it is better than
the water from a municipal system. That is far from the truth. On average
municipal water is safer than bottle water on average. Anybody who is
willing to spend an given amount for a bottle of water, that will buy a
thousand gallons of municipal water, can not be too swift.

I dunno about that. I can quickly taste the difference between tap and
bottled. (People have tried to fool me many times).

I use a Brita filter; I figure it's better than nothing.

I use Brita too. Their ion-exchange system does a lot more than
plain activated charcoal will, AIUI. My local (UK-rural) water
supply is already good but has varied in the past, which is why I
began filtering. Now I filter because it reduces the lime scale
which builds up in the kettle -- and because I imagine it tastes
better. <g>

You are correct.

Dizzy went off into left field with his tirade and lost sight of the
truth....
