Hi I just bought a VW 1997 polo 1.4CL, but just noticed a slight knock in
the steering a bit on right-hand turns. Anyone else have this problem or
know what it could be??

could be the top strut bearings as they were notorious for wear on these
polo's and golf's.
jack the front of the car up, grasp the wheel firmly and shake from left to
right and check movement at the top of the strut, its easier to lift the
bonnet (hood) and look from the top of the wheel arch since the bearing
protrudes through.
