4 days ago my check engine light came on and now last night I am
having some serious gear changing issues. Whenever I try to find
reverse its not even there. Also the position of each gear is very
loose, and I can't find 1st. I am thinking that this issue is
separate from the light and that the clutch might need replacing.

Any thoughts ??

I doubt the problem is your clutch but rather a failure in the shifting
linkages. A good inspection will most likely show something worn
or broken. Seems i heard of a bracket coming loose causing these
symptoms.
