I've posted this on another forum and no one answered. I hope someone can offer suggestions: We have an 2001 Jetta 2.0l with over 125,000 miles on it. Regardless of the speed, if the steering wheel is turned quickly (almost violently), there is a thud or bang - sounds to me like something hitting hard rubber. It may be metal on rubber but it is definately not metal on metal. Other than that, the steering is fine and tight and reacts normally. Any ideas, if so, is the fix simple? Thanks in advance, Diarmud |
