Hi there, I have a VW 2000 Golf, and the climate control light has burnt out...yet again. It is the one with 3 dails for the fan/direction/ speed. Is there an easy way to fix this...i guess i can buy the 3370 tool to take off the casing and manually pull out the entire control panel. Is there an easier way to do this? Thanks. |

wow I was about to change the bulbs on a 2000 Golf on Monday. When I started to unscrew the heater control panel the illumination started working again. And kept working each time the light switch was turned on. Time will tell! What is the 3370 tool? Guess I need to break out the Bentley! ;-) later, dave (One out of many daves) "HT" <hung... Guess I need to break out the Bentley! ;-) later, dave (One out of many daves) Dave , I did a search and found this : from site : http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1683482 ..Either a selection of good quality dental picks or automotive trim picks, or a Mercedes trim removal tool P/N 140 589 02 33 00. VW also makes a trim removal tool, VW tool P/N 3370, however, the Mercedes tool is easier to work with, and it is less expensive than the VW tool. Just put the dental pick underneath the wood trim panel and pull out. The trim panel is very strong. Repeat this process on both sides, top and bottom. It is held in place by 4 press-fit pins, two on either side. |

How did you remove the front panel without the tool? On Mar 1, 11:22 pm, "dave AKA vwdoc1" <vwd... (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: wow I was about to change the bulbs on a 2000 Golf on Monday.
