In article <iViSh.1070$2v1.... (AT) newssvr14 (DOT) news.prodigy.net>, vwdoc1 @hotmail.com says... I agree with Mark...........it is usually not the motor but also I usually hear the motor run when I try to raise/lower the window. You did not report that you heard the motor working. If the regulator is jammed, at least on my '95, you won't hear it spin either. I think there's a 'don't cut the kid's arm off' circuit that disables the motor when the load is too high. Just a guess tho'. I still suspect the wiring to the door is faulty. 8^o Easiest way is to grab a harness from the dealer, about $90 last I checked, plug it in bypassing the harness and see if it works. Don't bother taking the old one out, just open the door, pop off the covers and plug it in. IIRC be VERY careful not to run the window all the way down. I think the motor is on the outside of the window when it comes down. I suggest you purchase an aftermarket kit that comes with both motor and regulator. I haven't seen this. Where can you get 'em? | i didn't mention this before but the passenger window used to work intermittently before it stopped completely. I didn't hear any crack or any weired noise before it stopped working. I am guessing it's the motor but i am going to change both. It is your money but if it were me I'd do alot of trouble shooting |
