Default Passat OBD Connector - 06-04-2005 , 12:32 AM

Where is the OBD connector on a 2001 Passat? It does not seem to be
under the instrument panel - at least that I can see. So I'm
guessing it's under the hood somewhere. Anyone know? Thanks.

Under the rubber mat in the long thin tray near the handbrake.

Centre console. Under a cover in the base of a small compartment
next to the hand-brake.

Steve, when did VW move them there? At least in the USA cars.

USA cars are under the left side lower dash trim cover just about above the
brake pedal.

That's it - it's right above the brake pedal. It's a US car. I just
couldn't see or feel - until I got a mirror and a good light and then
it popped right out. Thanks for the replies.
