Are your brakes dragging?

As I turn right around a wide turn at 30+ MPH I hear a low grumble from
the left front wheel. It's the wheel bearing, right? Well I replaced the
bearing last month and the noise went away. But it's slowly returning
again. Is there something wrong that's causing this? Could a poor
allignment damage the bearing? The other thing suspicious is the outer
CV joint can slide a 1/4" back and forth on the axel. I don't think this
is a problem, but I'm grasping at straws.

I don't think so. That wheel is missing it's anti-rattle springs. The
wheel does clunk quite a bit over rough roads.

i had bad spindles once... you can replace wheel bearings all day long, and
if you have a bad spindle then your new bearings will go bad... but it is
somewhat rare for the spindles to be bad... you haver to be an idiot and
install them wrong (like a certain shop that did my first wheel bearing
job...) i think in order to make the spindles bad...
