Hi i bought a golf gti off someone who changed the engine, it turns over fine
and has signs of a spark from all four leads, not firing at all though,
changed the leads and disi cap + rotor arm still not starting!!!

If there is any silly things that might not start it then could someone
please let me know, spark plugs look a bit shit so ill change them, also
there is defently fuel as it starting pissing fuel out every where because of
a leaking petrol pipe.

Also when the ignition is on is the oil light suppose to flash?

Re: oil light, yes, will go on until the engine runs and builds up
enough oil pressure and the light will/should go out.

Can you provide a bit more background. Has the engine ever run after
the engine exchange?

check the timing belt for missing teeth which throws the engine timing off.
