Hi All, I'm interested in buying a 2001 Volvo S80, it has about 180k on the clock but has been well maintained. I have read some reviews about this car and have mixed feelings. Some people had had nightmares with these cars while others have had a relatively trouble free cars. I need some advice here, am I falling ina big hole by making this decision? Also is it true that the 2001 S80 tranny is made by GM and therefore longevity is an issue? I have seen one of these cars with 270k on the clock and another with 47k on the clock but with a burned tranny. I love this car but dont know want to do.... Please advise! Thank you! Fred A hole yes but not a deep one the transmission is made by GM yes there |

Also these cars eat shock mounts on a regular basis along with sway bar links both front & rear. If you drive the car in a bumpy area (example New York City on a regular basis) then you might find the control arm bushings being bad along with the ball joints. If the car looks good & you feel the price is right & you are aware of the pitfalls of owning a Volvo S80T6 then do your research & decide if this is your next car good luck Glenn K Volvo Certified Technician ASE Certified Technician |

Hey Glen, Jst a quick question, I have an 05 T6 s-80. I just tried to replace the engine air filter. How the heck do you get the cover for the filter housing back on. I can get the outside tabs back in but not the middle one. Looks like there are grooves but I CANT GET THEM TO GO IN. Any trick on doing this..getting the cover back on...any help appreciated John W "Glenn K" <glenn (AT) verizon (DOT) net> wrote in message news:go4st0$e8u$1 (AT) news (DOT) motzarella.org...
