know why you would need to replace the new brake pads, unless, of course, your Haynes manual warns you that you must always replace brake pads when replacing rotors. |

HELLO!!! The hard work is getting the wheels off, removing the pads, getting the calipers out of the way!! This is a lot of effort and you are going to put back USED PADS??? They cost NOTHING!! It takes NO MORE EFFORT to install NEW pads!! Do the right thing. Save the effort of having to the job twice when once will do it! INSTALL NEW PADS! Haynes, manual, indeed! sheesh! chuck petterson 73ES |

If you have rivet grooves in an old rotor from running it with worn down pads, then the replacement pads that are on it will most likely be grooved as well and shouldnt be used on a new rotor, otherwise it makes no difference whatsoever using slightly used pads on a new rotor. Front pads usually take me about 10 minutes per side, so I would save the 35 bux for now. Riveted pads ????? I've never seen such a thing on this side of the pond, |

I can get aftermarket rotors for as little as $24 each. I'd skip those but the autoparts guy says the top-grade ones at $50 each are great. I |
