Wrestling with the heat shield will remove all the skin from your fingers /
knuckles to begin with.

You need access from both above and below = lift / ramps.

There are about 5 different turbo's fitted to the T5, depending on year, ECU
type, and auto / manual. They vary in size, (15t, 16t, 18t, 19t etc) and
exhaust flange type (straight, angled, flat or cone).

You can interchange some of the sizes with stock ECU software, and also
flange style if you have the matching downpipe from the donor car etc.

Your best bet is to look to see what syle of flange you have, and post the
exact details of the car on the vpc forums (www.vpcuk.org) in the 70 series
forum and the experts there will give you a precise blow-by-blow procedure.

And don't overlook rebuilding the existing turbo. If it hasn't been
doing much grinding, it can be rebuilt for much less than replacing it.
